You have to love the weather here in Colorado. Being relatively new here, it is the exact opposite of back east, where I was happy with 65 days of sunshine -vs- the 300 here.

Managed to get a nice 100 mile ride through the foothills on Saturday.

Left Denver via 6 west to 93 north out of Golden. Made my way up 72 thru Coal Creek Canyon. The fun really began on the dirt road to Gross Reservior. Since my bike is a dual-sport, it will go just about anywhere. This road was a lot of fun, and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. If you have not been to Gross Reservior I highly recommend it.

From there hit the pavement again and took Flagstaff Rd into Boulder to have some lunch.

Took the LONG way back to Denver. 119 thru Nederland and back 72 through Coal Creek Canyon again.

All in all, an excellent day to ride.

BTW: I averaged 72 Miles per gallon!

I feel that sentiment completely.

The weather out here is enough to make me never want to move back east ever again. I am from Rhode Island where the sun would slide behind the clouds and you didn't see a speck of it again for weeks.

A local RI artist drew up a postcard that made me laugh so hard. It said, "Providence, Rhode Island where it rains two days out of three except during the rainy season when it snows like a bitch."
