- hmm, let's see. 2004 wuz camp fierce (not officially tho), 2005 wuz a bunch of colo. homies, 2006 wuz accidentally splat in the middle of avalon village aka 400 gay guys, 2007 wuz happy cock camp tho most of the other happy cockers didn't even know i wuz there ;-), 2008 got kicked out of astral headwash (giggle), 2009 will find me in lamplighter village.

- ya know that sense you get at burning man when the rest of the world just melts away and you return to your peaceful humbled yet empowered self? i find that sense of self not only wandering solo in deep playa but also hanging off a sheer cliff face far off in the mountains, breathing deep the cold crisp air of winter in a snow covered forest and meditatively lost in the flames which i dance with.

Rraine invited Colorado to volunteer and become a lamp lighter Monday night at the Burn. Lumi and I agreed it was something we wanted to do. We were to meet at the lamplighter village to be inducted into their little cult at 5 pm.
We hesitantly prepared for our evening. Winds up to 40 mph beat and battered our tent for 8 hours straight that day. We were only just over half way through those 8 hours when we had to leave for center camp.

fire drums chapter one
It’s Wednesday, just about 5 pm. I sit here at my desk sipping espresso letting the day’s stress fade away. I look out at the suddenly brightly lit panoramic view of the front range. It’s been cloudy all day. Kind of like my mood. I’m snacking on the last trader joe’s peanut butter granola bar from my weekend’s adventures. The memories of which already seem so long ago.
