I have to put it out there how utterly PERFECT Apogaea 2009 was.

I was outright spoiled by the warmth, love, intelligence, art, music, talent, full moon, starry nights and pristine friendly souls that I crossed paths with.

I hope to see everyone at the Burn, covered in Playa!

Much love, opens arms and affection for all that wish it!

GREENING APO

In an effort to keep waste down and follow the path of self-reliance, we are encouraging everyone to bring their own cup to Apogaea this year. Let’s try to avoid any kind of disposable cups. Let’s also try to avoid plasticware. Second hand stores are a great place to pick up sets of silverware that you can use or better yet…gift!

There will also be recycling bins set-up around Apo Town. Please use these ONLY for recycling materials. Self-Reliance is really your own responsibility and so is your trash. Help keep Apogaea and the Planet magnificent!

WHAT’S COMING TO APO THIS YEAR?

Apogaea had an unprecedented number of grant applications for 2009. Applications included workshops, performances, events, and all manner of visual arts. Below are short descriptions of those projects that are confirmed, and there will be more to come!

FINAL CALL FOR REGISTRATIONS

Yes, we want YOU to bring your artistic creations to this year's Apogaea! We want to know and be prepared for the greatness of your gift, so if you plan to bring a Theme Camp, Sound Camp, Art Car or Performance then please register your contribution so that we can ensure space, help with scheduling and promote its awesomeness.

All the details are here : http://apogaea.com/artcamps.php
Deadline : Midnight, May 15, 2009

GENERATORS & QUIET HOURS

By popular vote from the community and the Apogaea board, there will be a mandatory "Reduced Hours and Quiet Hours" for sound/theme camps at Apogaea this year.

Reduced hours will be from 4-6am
Quiet hours will be 6am - 10am.

This means turn off all generators, and subsequently all amplified music. FOUR - count em 4 glorious hours of peace and quiet - well, at least 4 hours without the megawatts thump of amplified music. That's enough to get a good nap in.
Sound levels will be enforced with decibel meters.

Also don't forget we will be enforcing enclosed generators. Generator noise must not exceed 70dB at 10 feet - that's about as loud as an average passenger car. Any generator that is found to be in violation will be turned off until the noise issue is remedied with better enclosure techniques. We're not trying to be Nazis about this, we just need to make sure everyone is being respectful in such a limited, but beautiful space.

------:-------:-------:-------:-------:-------:-------:-------:-------:--

TO PORTA POTTY OR PORT YOUR POTTY

We will be adding several more portalets this year with a guaranteed daily cleaning, which will hopefully result in each one being used a bit less. And of course, you can always do your part by eating and drinking less!

Undoubtedly the *ick* factor of public bathrooms after a night of partying is universal to burns. Like the joys of cleaning playa dust out of crevices you had no idea even existed in your body, it is one of the things we love/hate about these events. We'll do the best we can to make it as tolerable as possible though.

And remember - with enough leak proof re-usable grocery bags and a (hopefully!) private setting, no one ever *really* has to use the public bathrooms...

Pack it in - pack it out!

Once again we will be giving artists, musicians, DJs, fire performers, Theme Camps, and event coordinators a chance to stand up and share what they will be bringing to the event this year. We invite you to meet the Board of Directors (there's some new faces!) and those behind the scenes. Come find out why our 2009 Colorado Regional Burn will be one of the best years yet, and learn more about how you can get involved.

On The Agenda:

* Camp Placement Information
* Artist, Theme Camp, and Event Introductions
* Question and Answer Session

All types of volunteers are needed for participation. We can't do this event without the volunteers that make it happen, so your help is greatly appreciated!

Please plan to stay after the meeting for a Meet and Greet Social Gathering too. Delicious food and beverages will be provided as a way of thanking you for your time. This also a great way to meet your fellow Apogaea Family!

Tickets will also be on sale for those who want to secure themselves a spot at the most happening regional this side of the Great Divide! ($50 tickets presale, $60 at gate)

We are excited to bring Apogaea once again to the Colorado Burning Man Community. We hope to see and hear from you.

Hi All!
Well, the Conclave has finally had a minute to recover from our intense and chaotic preparations for Apogaea...

We had a fantastic time performing for you!

We want to give a huge shout out to all who attended Apogaea this year, the energy at the Great Circle on Burn night was *amazing*!!

We were so blown away by the tons of comments we've recieved about our costuming, music, props, etc.- we took a risk this year by going all out with a full-on production... thanks so much for the sing-alongs, feedback, suggestions, kudos & hugs after the performance- it made it all so worth it!!

However... our preparations for the year are only half-over- we still have the final push to Burning Man to go!

As such, we've decided to continue our fund-raiser raffle just a couple more weeks to try to recoup some of the extensive costs we incurred while developing our (big) production- your support is *hugely* appreciated!!

The date has been set for Sunday, June 29th for the final drawing of our fabulous prizes (see the list below). We will be accepting donations and issueing tickets at the 2 different prize levels until then- see a friendly '08 Conclave member to get your ticket(s) in the hat!!
What, you won't be out and about in the next couple weeks to run into a Conclave firefly to spread the love and get your tickets?!?! -No problem, you can buy tickets/make a donation online via PayPal ( www.paypal.com ) via the following account: rbroyden@hotmail.com

Because we will be contacting winners of the raffle prizes by both phone and email, please make sure to provide both with your ticket info, along with your real name... and please let us know how many of each ticket type you prefer (see below).

And if you didn't get to see us perform at Apogaea- no worries- we have a couple more performance dates coming up in the next couple months- mark your calendars for July 13th and August 3rd (and maybe another date or 2 in between) in Westminster- we want/need an audience!!!

Thanka again for all the support!!

Wow, how fun was that?!? I have finally recovered from my hula hooping injuries (massive bruises, which I was SO proud of!!). The Pink Pussie Palace was the best!!
Pussie S'More~Leslie Comment by Pussie S'More~Leslie on June 9, 2008 at 11:23pm
The Pink Pussie Palace started as four independent ladies wanting to share their passion for the community along with love within themselves. As with any theme camp “there’s a great story” and for us this weekend was one hell of an ending.

What an overwhelming Apogaea. From the unexpected guests with bad manners at the beginning to pulling off every thing we planned The Pussies of The Pink Pussie Palace would like to thank all of our patrons of Apogaea 08. We appreciate the support and enthusiasm for our camp over the last four years. As you all know it takes a lot of work and every year it was truly worth the effort. Thank you to the Tom Kats for joining the adventure and adding the Tom-catery to our little group. We say thanks especially to our Resident DJ Milk. “All Pussies love Milk” and he was there from the start and we thank him personally. Milkman brought together some of the funkiest grooves and this year was one of the BEST. Speaking of THANKS to all who shared their expertise behind the table-Yahya, Schmid-E, Earth, Xara Kitty, Eyeamone, Timmy and this years incredible additions of Ishe, Dirty Chavez, and the Incredible MLE!

We couldn’t have done any of it without help from overwhelming Pussie supporters and the list is huge. So please know that all who have come to our parties or lifted a whisker in any way we thank you so much.

There is always a reunion tour possible and we hope to continue rockin’ out with some parties in the future but for now we say “Long Live The Pink Pussie Palace at Apogaea-BM CO Regional. We look forward to supporting the next Big Pink (or Yellow, Or Ultramarine, Or Baby Diaper Green) Thing.

Meows and Hugs! We hope that you all made it home safe and warm.
