We have a bit of news for you this month, including the extension of the design contest and a second round of art grants... not to mention how to register your camps, cars and acts. Apogaea might seem to be seasons away, but much like Rome, it's not gonna get built in a day. So, don't be fooled! Apogaea is just around the corner (128 days and counting)... with deadlines left and right! No more dilly-dallying, it's time to bring to fruition your plans for making Apogaea 2009 the best yet.

TICKET/FLYER DESIGN CONTEST

Art Guidelines*:
Flyer Design Size - final size 5.5" x 4.25" + .25" bleed on all 4 sides = 6" X 4.75"
Ticket Design Size - final size 5.5" x 2" + .25" bleed on all 4 sides = 6" X 2.5"
File Formats - tiff, eps, pdf, and high quality jpg files accepted
Resolution - 300 dpi is ideal, but files must be at least 200 dpi
Submissions will be judged based on concept, execution & image quality

Both tickets and flyers should use the same design. On each, you must include:
- The name of the event, "Apogaea"
- This year's theme name, "Ramble**"
- The Apogaea logo, which you can download here in EPS, JPG and PNG formats
- The tentative date of the event, June 4th - 7th 2009
*Please note that it is very important to stay within the developing guidelines.
Pulling images off of the internet is usually not a good idea because of the low quality issues.
**The 2009 theme is RAMBLE
- to wander around in a leisurely, aimless manner.
- to take a course with many turns or windings, as a stream or path.
- to grow in a random, unsystematic fashion.
- to talk or write in a discursive, aimless way

CALLING ALL ARTISTS!!!!!!!
ANNOUNCING THE 2ND ROUND ART GRANT CYCLE
Feb. 9 - Mar. 9, 2009
The Apogaea Creative Committee will open up the Grant Cycle for ROUND TWO, starting February 9th.
We heard your plea that there are many smaller projects out there that do not need as much time to put together or need as much funding and we've answered it with an additional round of grants that are smaller in value. i.e. $25, $50, $100, $200.
P.S. Daytime art is highly encouraged... desired... longed for!

* NOTE: If you have been notified that you are receiving a grant from the Creative Grant Committee, you do NOT need to register your project. If you have already been awarded a grant for Apo 09, you are not qualified to receive a second one.

for theme camp and art ideas, it would be nice to know if we will be back at HAR this year. If not, have we nailed down a spot for Apo 2009? Thanks
