Colorado Burning Man Community

Thank you all... I was pleasantly supprised by the response to the
post about my beloved theme camp to be 'Arachnophobia' coming to an
end. After a whole lot of talking and soul searching with my beloved
husband Cygni we have decided there is a way to do this that won't
cause this wonderful thing to become a destructive force in our
life... so here, ammended, is a short list of what the bare minimum
would be to save the spider from the brink of destruction.

1. A crew of 8 who really want to dedicate themselves to help with
the remainder of the building, packing, unloading and fun on the
playa. No experience needed. Ability to pay camp fees pretty
important. This camp is built on the principle of EVERYONE having a
say... there is no one supreme leader and everyone is listened to.
Drama is allowed... ego is not. Have some great ideas for a theme
camp? YES! Lets incorperate them!

2. Since we are losing our home... a work/storage space untill this
puppy, I mean spider, is done... at which point we will be renting a
storage location for it to call home. Think about mid August.

Transportation was going to be number three... but one of the awesome
people who emailed me offered this already so THANK YOU...

Also a BIG help would be somone who KNOWS how to put on a fundraiser
may want to put one on for arachnophobia. This would be awesome.

Aside from being the rocking-est goth club on the playa Arachnophobia
was going to be a real cabaret... a space for the weird and woderful
and open to all kinds of activities. This was to be a space for the
Colorado Burning Man community to be able to create increadible art
and engage people in experiences. It would be a shame for all of
us... even though we don't know it yet... to lose this camp when we
are so close.

Let me know... I am uncomfortably hopeful...

Right now we need
1: 8 people who want to commit to putting time effort (and camp fees) into this and help make this camp awesome! ...we have 3 committed.... we are looking to lock down 5 more before the end of this month to let the person who wants to do a fund raiser weather or not to go ahead!
2: storage/workspace.... we have someone who may be able to offer their space but we are still waiting on a definite response....

Where are you guys located again? I'm down to contribute some time and money. I just need to see if I can get to where you are!

man, I wish I knew More about Arachophobia. I went to that awesome thread called the Zagat Guide to Colorado Camps and didn't see anything. Maybe someone will add this camp to that excellent, wonderful, resource!

(shameless self-thread promotion)

OK... here is an update. I found transportation, Ronnie agreed to help with fundraising the last little bit, I found a storage space/work space and.... three people....

....I know there has got to be a way to work this because we have almost everything we need here.

...I am emailing my crew in the bay area today and seeing if they have any good ideas... In the mean while.... if I just had a few more people! This would totally be a go... Any advice...? I am torn... I feel like I should carry on with what crew I have since everything else has been taken care of... but I am also concerned that the work of finishing this up is really going to be too much for four people to fit into their scheduals...

Ideas?
