BLAST^ thanks you!
Boulder Local Action Support Team thanks everyone who braved the rain and chilly weather and came out last Saturday to make the first annual BLAST* Back to the Burn ~ Costume Sale and Recompression a HUGE success!
BLAST^ raised over $500 from costume sales! That plus extremely generous individual donations of $300 from Fraggle (a.k.a. Steve Jones) and $200 from B-Rad (a.k.a. Brad Holland). Our grass roots community group now has around $1000 to fund future projects, set up an LLC, buy equipment and tools if needed, make charitable contributions, purchase insurance and permits for future events... and this list goes on and on.
The financial records will soon be open and available for anyone interested in where the funds come from, and what projects and actions the funds are used for. All BLAST^ meetings are open to everyone in the community and will be announced in advance via these email lists, come share your ideas. All BLAST^ projects are also open to everyone and are a great chance to volunteer, meet new people, learn new skills, and make a positive impact right here in you local community. Stand by for the next meeting announcement, and soon after that the next project will be announced.
One more special thanks to all the volunteers who made the fund raiser a huge success. BBQ man. Costume sorters and sales. DJ. VJ. Tent setup and tear down. Food prep. Bartender. All who helped clean up in the pouring rain. And none of this would have been possible without generous costume donations from many people in the community.
