Specific Greening to do & not to do @ APO & some more needs

Hey yall what a hard working weekend for the most of us at work weekend...and some good fun too...Man does the Gantry burn AWESOME!!! And the effigy looks great. From what I saw at work weekend we did Ok with recycling/greening...I couldn't really count all the trash bags leaving but hope it wasn't too much. I did see a lot of packaging (try and reduce for event) and decent amount of MOOP around HAR just from the 50 or so of us on sunday...including cig. buts, cans, and not just toilet paper in the porta potties (NO wet wipes/ tampons/ tampon inserters/ condoms)!!! Will remind you all again NO CIG BUTTS in Fires (trash only, if you don't have a pocket or forgot a sm. container there will be some extras at Green camp/if you have lots of extra little containers please bring to Green Camp). I know when you are doing small non-porta potty camping ya pee in the woods (best to do on a rock FYI) but we cannot promote this with event this massive... Hey we all no I aint PUUURFECT but you all are my influencers and Burners to set awesome examples for the masses!!! I know we can do this.

1. I need more cardboard boxes...needs expanded. Small ones are better (need 16 small and maybe 2 bigger ones)...stick in your car and drop off as soon as you get there to Green Camp...best if coming Wed/thursday....or can drop off today or tomorrow to Forest in denver with my truck.
2. Need more 5 gallon buckets with lids again do same as above

Green To do's and not to do's at APO (will be on green insert at gate for the masses...please help me promote them at all times & read your survival guide)

Recycling
Main recycle collection is set up at gate (please have someone from your camp try and help the Earth Guardians by taking up yourself) + 6 other recycle stations throughout the event (please see map)
Please empty all bottles (plastic & glass) into a grey water bucket at your camp before recycling (grey water is any water you use for cooking/washing dishes or yourself and any extra fluids from drinks...this water cannot touch the ground...take it home with you in a bucket or bag)

PLASTICS we accept #'s 1 - 7 (must have recycle sign with a number in middle of sign), lids are not good
METALS all cans, (aluminum, tin and steel coffee cans, + clean tin foil)
CARDBOARD paperboard ,all boxes except milk/juice boxes (wax is bad)
GLASS bottles and jars only NO lids or tops
PAPER All white and colored paper, newspaper, coated paper (shiney)
NO Carbon Paper, Lunch bags, paper plates and cups(sm. amount can be composted), Candy wrappers, waxed paper, Cardboard/Paperboard, Tape, [Napkins, paper towels, tissue paper- these can be burned...but remember this is still releasing carbon into the air]

Thank you for helping and please come to a recycle workshop at Green Camp (1 every day)

Composting

Main composting is set up across road from HAR's garden/greenhouse. Please collect your scraps in a cardboard box or sealed bucket or even a bag & take up your compost at least twice during event or before you leave. There is a veggie scrap bucket and a meat scrap bucket...leave all compost in appropriate bucket as cut up or broken up as you can...ok if some water in your composting to wet piles down (Earth Guardians will take care of composting). There will be several composting workshops throughout event & these guidelines will help you do it even at home...check Green camp for schedule...it is really easy to compost no matter where you live.)

Great source of info. Thanks. I hope everyone reads this. If even half of the folks on this site took the time to implement even a few of these tips it would make a big difference.
